Now in one breath I am gutted that these adverts are back mainly I am just tired of the debate but on the other breath, I stand back in amazement than Protein World are still pushing ahead with a such determination and confidence.
So I now I will kickback and watch how America responds to these bikini-clad adverts and see if us Brits have overreacted.
Carlsberg response to the Protein World hugely controversy adverts “Are you beer body ready?” on London Underground is another stroke of marketing genius and really quick thinking.
The beer brand moved quickly to take the space next to next to the controversial advert using a Carlsberg bottle in a little yellow bikini bottom, created by the creative agency Fold7 who also designed “Probably the best poster in the world“ which we blogged about a few weeks ago. Fold7 we salute you!
The original Protein World ads featuring a model posing in a bikini and asking have sparked a public backlash for making people physically inferior to the unrealistic body image of the bronzed model in the campaign with more than 70,000 people signing an online petition demanding the adverts be removed.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has also announced it will launch an investigation to establish if the ads broke “harm and offence rules or is socially irresponsible”.
Now this is interesting. After blogging about Saturdays Spring Market only yesterday and my love affair for the Digbeth Dinning Club there seems to be a new guy coming to the Birmingham table.
Taste and Liquor will be launching a Global Feast – IVAL and weekly outdoor market set up by the people behind the Holi Rave at the new pop up venue on Lower Essex Street.
The event launches on Saturday 30th May 2015 from 12 – 6pm and will take place every week after.
Taste and Liquors point of difference to the other, more established food markets is a focus on more globally inspired street food from the Midlands and cocktails classes. Looking forward to popping along …
Can the carlsberg campaign get any better than this? Surely this is genius, a billboard dispensing beer it has got to be the best marketing idea so far this year… I love it!
The billboard advert equipped with a beer pump popped up early Wednesday near to the Old Truman Bewery in Shoreditch, London offering visitors a half of lager from a tap located under the slogan ‘Probably the best poster in the world’.
Carlsberg marketing bosses said the promotion will be rolled out across the country. Whoooo to one coming to Rugby.
I had 30 minutes to kill after doing some speed shopping and I was in need of a relaxing coffee so I popped into a little independent cafe today in Rugby, Delish.
It’s never really been on my radar but was pleasantly surprised. They served a great range of homemade food such as quiches, fish cakes, hearty salads and a fab cake selection, you can even purchase homemade breads to take away.
The design of the interiors, layout and atmoshpere was what stood out for me. It was nice and chilled yet with modern twists and a place I could spend an Saturday afternoon reading a book or writing this blog!
But what I got really excited about, sad but true, was the use
of the syrup tins for sugar pots …cute!
I will go back and try out their dishes so watch this space. Oh and I nearly forgot, the coffee was Delish.
